Hey all,

So thanks a lot for everyone coming out to our last couple shows. They were fun. There is always the possibility of us playing again sometime put i wouldn't hold my breath.

Anyways we wanted to extend a thank you to Mitchell Westcott, who has been kind enough to step in and play 3rd guitar for the last couple months. It has been pretty awesome having in the line-up.

So this weekend is the last time to see SWORDS for a long time (maybe forever). So come out. Thanks.

MIASMA release show

The date has been set to unleash our new record, MIASMA. There will be a live performance taking place on:

This is our 5th release and 2nd full-length. We recorded this record with Ian Blurton (C'mon, Cursed, Weakerthans) and it was mastered by James Plotkin (SUNN O, Isis). Artwork was done by Nadine Hodder and the silk screening was done by our very own Adam Goodwin.

We are also hoping to have an all ages show around the same time, more info on that as we find out. Hope to see you out at the show. take it easy.

Hello,

Some news on the record front: it is being sent to press this week, artwork is done and we have a preview of part of a song up on bandcamp http://monumentofswords.bandcamp.com/ so go check it out. The release should be happening in late may/early june, more info to come shortly on this one.

we are playing a show on april 1st. here are the details.

It is the polina split 7" release par-tay, as well as their return from hiatus, so come down!

We have heard mixes!!!!! We are very happy with them!!!!! All four songs will be finished soon and we will post some songs or samples of on our myspace page when we have them. until then not much else in the news department. we are writing new material which moves at a glaciers pace for us. take it easy.

Settling into the cold

SWORDS have no shows booked at the moment. We are not going to be playing until the new year. We are still waiting on the final mix of our new record. Once we have that it will be shipped off to be mastered and then off to the pressing plant to be turned into a sweet slab of vinyl.

We are writing some new material now. Updates will be posted soon.

Hey. So we just played a couple shows: Sept 9th @ CBTG's with MOnsterbator and Juicer, and Sept 10th @ the headquarters with wizards of kaos, endometrium, and dig up the dead. both shows were fun and rad.

we have some shows booked for october so here they are:

oct 1st @ distrtion, with Wizards of Kaos and 1 more
Oct 16th @ the ship with C'mon and 1 more.

more info to come for those shows as it comes to me.

Also our record is almost mixed and then it is being sent out to be mastered. We are looking at an early new year release (january/february).

Tour and Recording

Our mini-tour was super awesome. We would like to extend very big thank yous to: Mountanaka, Greg Boone, Matthew Cuthbert, Angela and Alicia in Guelph for putting on some wicked fun shows.

The recording also went awesome and we are very excited to release the final product. A giant thank you to Ian Blurton for being a wicked dude to work with. Also thank yous to Jay @ Chemical sound and Bernard @ Highfield studios.

There will be more updates once i am back in st john's and situated more comfortably. until take it easy.

So we are done with shows for a bit. Just finished playing 3 weeks in a row. That has not happened in a while. All the shows were fun and we played with some pretty cool local bands that we hadn't seen or played with...ever or in a long time. One that really stood out was Monsterbater, in which our bassist, Stefan, plays keyboards. They are rad. You should see them if you are in the St john's area.

We may be playing a couple shows near the end of July but nothing is confirmed, so until it is, there will be no info about them. Also our mini-pre-recording-tour is all booked and we will be posting all the info for those shows soonish.

We are recording a demo our new album "Miasma" this week. We are jazzed about finally hearing what it all sounds like together. We will let you know how it goes and maybe post some of it on our myspace.

Recording dates confirmed

So recording has been confirmed. We will be recording after our short string of shows in Ontario and Quebec from August 23rd to 25th. We will be posting confirmed info for the shows (which run aug 17th - 22nd) as soon as we have all the info; hopefully soon.

We are recording this record with Ian Blurton of C'mon fame and we are very jazzed. More info to come as it rolls in.

Already almost a week late.

Well weekly updates might be a bit ambitious and unnecessary as news with us moves at a glacier's pace. So I am going to try and update this around twice a month, at least, or as much as is necessary to keep up on our goings-on.

June though is shaping up to being a busy month. We have a few shows, which I will post with details as they are confirmed. As well we may be demoing our new album with the illustrious peter andrews, getting ready for the full-blown recording in august. We have finished writing the new record, it is one song broken down into 4 parts.

It is called "MIASMA" .

Hello.

We do not update this much. I am going to try and change that with at the very least weekly updates. We have a fair bit going on in the next few months so I will get into laying down what is and what is going to be happening.

We have a few shows coming up in June.

June 18th at the levee with Monsterbaitor and some other bands.

June 26th at Distortion with Mopey Mumble Mouse and some other bands.

We are also playing some shows out of town this August and recording a new record. We are recording in Toronto and playing dates before the recording. Here are those dates:

Back on Hiatus

Alright, so we had a pretty awesome time with the cd release shows in st john's (even though the weather for the saturday show really sucked) and the shows away were really fun. Thanks to everyone who helped us out: Greg Boone, Matt Deline, Lucas Huang, and Matt Cuthbert. We would also like to extend very huge thank yous to scott sjoholm and bryan walker for the use of their gear. and a life saving thank you to james may and jennifer tingley for the use of their van when ours crapped out.

We had a great time but we are now back on hiatus. barring any misfortunes we should be back playing together in September.

We are right now working on a recording that we did just before the holidays. There are no definite plans yet for these two songs but there have been talks about a split 12" or a straight up 10"/12" EP. We are waiting on mixing right now but hopefully all that will be wrapped up by the end of February. We have no shows lined up for the time being and we are keeping it that way right now. We would like to work on new material and the aforementioned recording. So yeah keep it real. See you soon,

This is what happens when you are at your parent's home for a few days during the holidays. You come up with the notion to do the 2nd trendiest band related online representation and make a blog for your website. After NEVER updating the website that we have, maybe it's better to try this out for a while and see how it works. Also we can stay away from the ego of having 500+ myspace 'friends'. We want THIS to be the main point for our news and not lame myspace.

This year is looking busy with hopefully 2 NEW releases. More details to follow.
